Kabra Clothing

Branding | illustration | Creative direction

Launched in January 2013, Kabra is a San Jose streetwear brand that is influenced from Xicano, graffiti, tattoo, punk, hip-hop, and skate culture.

Kabra began as my own personal project before evolving into a small brand. I’m currently transitioning the brand into an illustrator pen name featuring occasional shirt drops and booth appearances.

As the brand was getting recognized throughout the Bay Area, I created a small guide as the brand expanded.

Something about creating by hand is so beautiful before jumping on the computer I love to sketch. This helps me flush out ideas and execute a lot faster. Since starting the brand sketching/note taking is a tool I use on a daily basis.

Older explorations

Before creating the guide I played a lot with imagery/textures and color. Eventually some executions stayed with the brand like the usage of red and lifestyle images that fit the brand. Here are some of favorites.
